The Busfest Charity Auction

The BUSFEST CHARITY AUCTION is a hugely popular part of the BUSFEST weekend.

  • Traders are invited to donate items for the Auction.
  • These items can be viewed at the Charity Auction Location within the BUSFEST HUB.
  • Standard AUCTION Rules will be applied during the Auction.
  • The auction will take place in the DANCE STAGE AREA (MAIN STREET) at 16.00 on the SATURDAY

The Busfest 2023 nominated charity for the auction is "VANS WITHOUT BORDERS"

I expect everybody has been affected in some way or another by what has been happening in Ukraine over the last 2 YEARS.

And I am sure many of you wish you could be doing something about it or make some contribution to help the people of Ukraine.

Indeed, there are many within the van owning community who are doing a lot more than just that.

They are risking their lives (and their vans) delivering humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine who continue to suffer under this devastating conflict. They all deserve our support to help them continue their work.

One such group that I have been particularly impressed with are VANS WITHOUT BORDERS a group under the leadership of Jack Ross who have been making Humanitarian Aid trips to Ukraine since the very beginning to help the people still caught up in the conflict and need our support to be able to continue doing this.

At Busfest 2023 we raised just under £3300 for the Vans Without Borders

BUSFEST will continue to support Guide Dogs as well.

The BUSFEST CHARITY AUCTION and other areas at Busfest have already managed enough funds to sponsor TWO Guide dogs.

Guide Dogs is a working name of The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
Registered Office: Hillfields, Burghfield Common, Reading, Berkshire RG7 3YG. A company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales (291646) and a charity registered in England and Wales (209617) and Scotland (SC038979) for the Blind Association.

Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. By 2050, there could be nearly four million. When someone loses their sight – Guide Dogs is here to make sure they don’t lose their freedom as well.

This year we are very pleased to have SoXsighted (A group of visually impaired Morris Dancers who also support Guide Dogs), on Site.

They will be performing outside the BUSFEST INFORMATION CENTRE on SATURDAY (11.00-11.30 & 11.40-12.00) Please come along and give them your support.

We rely on donations from the public to keep our life-changing services running. In 2016, less than 1% of our income came from government funding.

What money can buy
• £5 could support a working guide dog for a day
• £25 could buy a white guide dog harness
• £140 could buy a Starter Kit for a new guide dog owner, his nominated charity of the year.

We wish them every luck with achieving their fundraising target of £5,000 which would pay for the breeding and containing everything they need to start a life with their new guide dog

We’d like to say a big thank you to Busfest for choosing us, as their nominated charity again for 2022. This would help towards giving a person living with sight loss eight years of freedom and independence.

We are very pleased to say that £1048 was raised at this years (Busfest 2022) which means they have now raised £4796 towards the cost needed to train another (SECOND) guide dog.
