BUSFEST (2022) CHILL ZONE STAGE

We are very please to announce the running programme for the CHILL ZONE STAGE at this years BUSFEST.

HANNIGAN

Hannigan is a 26 year old traveling singer-songwriter. Drawing from his English and Irish heritages, he has created a sound that can only be defined as his own. Settling into an acoustic soulful folk rock genre he writes honestly, inspired by the ever changing world around him.

JOSEPH LOFTHOUSE

Joseph Lofthouse has the ability to calm a room and draw an audience into his world. With technical prowess and evocative lyrics, Joseph weaves personal experiences and stories into life with the gift of a classic songsmith.

So wherever he travels, acoustic guitar in hand, his music is met with the same rapt attention.

TOM DIBB

Solo or with Full Band, Get set for a beautifully gutsy performance, as Tom tells his stories with undertones of blues, roots and folk, grown through a forest of soaring acoustic goodness.

A world tour and self drive expedition in his 1989 vw campervan all the way from the UK to Australia in 2016, lay the foundations and inspiration for much of his material.

It fits into mainstream molds, yet also satisfies a deeper creative taste.

DRUIDS BREW

We welcome Tim & the Druids (and JAY & SIDESHOW BOB) back to the CHILL ZONE STAGE at BUSFEST.

Never been before?

If it's your first time, the sheer size of Busfest can be a bit daunting. It's a bit like a mini-Glastonbury, with lots of different 'zones' dotted around the site.

For a start, it's BIG! It's about half a mile from Yellow Camp (General) along Main Street to the far end (Sheepshed) and a quarter mile from Brown Camp (Family) to Central Zone/Main Street. Just take your time, plan well, make sure you see everything that's going on, and you'll soon get to realise why we are:

"The World's Biggest and Best VW Camper Van Festival"

During the day, you will find the BIGGEST Trade Village of any festival, with up to 350 pitches.

Then there's the Fun Zone, incorporating a massive funfair, sideshows and stalls, and it's centrepiece, The HUB, which this year is hosting our WINTER WONDERLAND, complete with Christmas Market, Enchanted Forest, Skating Rink, real reindeer, Snow machine, Mischievous Elves, Gluhwein, Hot Chestnuts, Santa Photo Plinth, and a German Sausage Stall, as well as the VDub Radio Stage.

Don't forget our wandering walk-about entertainers, or our spectacular surprise on Saturday afternoon!

Also, head over to The Pamper Zone, with its oasis of pampering and indulgence for women. Men are catered for too, in The Man Cave!

There are three different Food Villages, each with a bar, other bars and restaurants, (Stockman's & Food for Thought) a Display Arena, a Main Arena hosting the Jez Avery Stunt Show as well as the Syncro Obstacle Course, an Exhibition Plaza, the Syncro Trial Course, Display Halls, Indoor daytime entertainments in the Severn Hall, and laid-back vibes, food and drink in the Chill Zone.

It's at night that the whole site transforms and comes into a world of its own - jugglers, fire breathers, stilt walkers, walkabout entertainers, food, drink, parties, funfair, rides, fun and frolics, as well as FIVE different Entertainment Worlds, each complete with its own live music stage, dotted around the site.

The HUB stage (FF) on Main Street, is our 'drop-in-and-out-stage' for all ages, with a cafe and bar serving snacks and drinks, and plenty of tables and seats. A great location to meet up with friends and family, or to just while away some time on your travels around the festival. Use it as your 'Central Meet-Up Point'.

On the stage, we will have VDub Radio doing 24 hours a day of internet radio from their on-stage studio, as well as at least 12 hours a day of live on-stage action featuring their top DJs and guest appearances, with music, fun, competitions, and giveaways. Full line-up will be published soon.

Inside the HUB at 2.00 on the Saturday we will be holding our BUSFEST CHARITY AUCTION to raise funds for Guide Dogs

A quarter of a mile away, at the other end of Main Street, we have our Rock & Alternative stage: The Sheepshed Stage. (A) It's an outdoor stage with a food village and bar, and it is hosted by our old friends and resident band Devious, who headline on Saturday night, along with support bands and guest appearances. Full line-up, headline bands and support artists line-up will be published soon.

If you are in that area, check out the AVON HALL. Inside you may find some very interesting vehicles (and people) presenting out WELL TRAVELLED TRANSPORTERS Display & other display vehicles.

Even further up the road from there, (back road between the AVON & WYE HALLS), there is another 'hidden gem - the tranquillity of the Stockman's Bar and restaurant, ideal for a more relaxed 'sit-down' restaurant meal or chill-out in the comfortable bar.

Check out the WYE HALL for lots more traders

Heading back up Main Street, we come to The Severn Stage, (A) our indoor stage, with bar and food village. This year, it is hosted by our resident musical mayhem artist, DJ and compere, Andeejay, who will be introducing world famous Club/Dance band K-Klass on Friday night, and our big extravaganza 'Diva Party Night' on Saturday with 'Blobbie Williams' doing his Robbie Williams parody act, and introducing two top UK tribute acts: Jodie Jackson as Madonna, and Kinesha as Tina Turner, along with our resident dancers.

Inside the SEVERN HALL during the daytime, we will have a whole host of CHILDRENS ENTERTAINERS to keep your little (and big!) ones happy. (We will Also have more Children’s Entertainment located at the Busfest Hub

At the front of the SEVERN HALL, we have our MAIN ARENA. This is where a lot of our Daytime activities take place and where the SYNCRO ZONE is located.

So come here if you want to see (or take part in) our BUSFEST GAMES on the Saturday OR watch the JEZ AVERY STUNT SHOW or our own Syncros in action on the SYNCRO OBSTACLE COURSE, or just want to see other interesting vehicles being displayed.

And yes, the MAIN ARENA will be the best place to be when we spring our very special BUSFEST 10th Anniversary SURPRISE at midday on the Saturday.

If you want to see even more “Live Syncro Action”, you will have to head to the northwest corner of the showground to our SYNCRO TRIAL Area. (Check out the times for the Trials before heading off to this one).

Over on the West side of the festival, in the Chill Zone, we have The Chill Stage. (FF) An open air stage, with a cocktail bar, coffee bar, food quarter, and twinkly lights in the trees. Just bring along a blanket and chill on the grass (No pun intended!) It's a sublime place to be. With top Chill/Ambient DJs, as well as live performances from the likes of Druid's Brew, Tom Dibb, the Andy Richards Band, and guests. Full line-up to be published soon.

Also , not too far away from the Chill Zone we have our PAMPER ZONE. This is located inside the Frisian Hall. (A delightful little wooden building between the Chill Zone & Wye Trade Hall). Stop off here to get you Busfest Pampering.

Heading back up onto Main Street, we have our final musical offering The DANCE STAGE (A)

An open-air stage purely for all you EDM/Trance/House fans! It is hosted by Kweenony, our Belgian DJ specialists, with guest appearances from the likes of Lee Dagger (Bimbo Jones) and other top guest DJ's. (This stage may change/vary depending on the travel situation at the time between mainland Europe and England). Full details and line-up to be published later.

Also located in this area (in the lower floor of the THREE COUNTIES CENTRE – the bit under the white ivory tower!). This is where our BUSFEST INFORMATION CENTRE is located & where you will also be able to buy your BUSFEST MERCHANDICE as well as get some friendly updates & additional info on the event.

Finally, If you (are with us all weekend) still have some energy left then our SHOW AND SHINE takes place on SUNDAY in the DISPLAY ARENA (which is to the north of the MAIN ARENA)

So, grab a drink, grab some friends, wander around, soak up the atmosphere, and try to visit a couple of different zones each night - they're all distinctly different and have their own vibe going on.

Zone distinction: (FF) = Family Friendly. These zones are designed to be family friendly so younger children can attend (accompanied by an over 16-year-old at all times).

(A) = Adult. Although we don't 'ban' younger children from these zones, the type of entertainment and clientele attending may be offensive to young minds. This can include smoke machines and pyrotechnics, very loud music, swearing, adult antics and nudity. Adults should think carefully about their responsibilities before taking impressionable children to these areas.

BUSFEST MEDIA

The first edition of the official BUSFEST 2021 VIDEO - Produced by MAKE IT MATTE BLACK media) can be viewed HERE

I am hoping that this video shows the very positive sides to what for us all has been an extremely difficult event to produce (and manage) this year.

This Video is dedicated to our wonderful BUSFEST CREW whose strenuous efforts this year has resulted in another very memorable event.

For many of us in the Busfest Crew, it is only now, after the event, (when we have had a rest) & can view the media and see the (positive) comments that have come back from this year’s event that we really appreciate (and see) what we create and achieve (nearly!) every year.

A MASSIVE THANKS, from the BUSFEST MANAGEMENT to ALL our SERVICE SUPPLIERS, the THREE COUNTIES STAFF, main SPONSOR A-PLAN INSURANCE & ALL of you who have supported us this year.

We hope you all enjoy this POST PANDEMIC VANDEMIC VIEWDEMIC & hope to see you all again next year.

BUSFEST - DOGS

Many of you who come to Busfest bring dogs with you.

We generally do not have a problem with that, as most of you are responsible dog owners who control and clear up after your animals.

But every now and again things start to get out of hand, and we must remind you that being able to bring your dogs to Busfest is a privilege not a given. Many events at this showground and others do not allow dogs on site anymore.

In the past we have come close to banning dogs at the event, but instead have introduced policies that have avoided that.

We now have a “Dog Free” Camping area and have an exclusion policy for dogs in the enclosed evening entertainment venues.

But now we are (again) having to revisit this subject again as the sheer number of dogs attending the event and the behaviour of them (and some of their owners) is causing quite a few problems.

In particular, within the Trade areas. Dogs and their owners are NOT all acting responsibly, and we have had numerous incidents of dogs soiling traders stock and stands and owners not even attempting to control their dogs.

This cannot (and will not) be tolerated any more so we will be introducing new initiatives at Busfest 2022 to deal with this problem.

It is going to be another good one folks..

SEE YOU THERE!.

The BUSFEST CREW.
